I am Petra Joly.‎

 

Fertility acupuncturist, Chinese medicine practitioner, author, founder of Newtown Natural Fertility Clinic, aspiring cook, and firm believer in ‘preparing the soil before planting the seed!’

 

Our clinic has been in operation in Geelong since March 2004, offering a complete service for natural fertility treatment and women’s health. Our team consists of a group of highly specialised practitioners offering support and expert care in acupuncture, traditional Chinese medicine, fertility & pregnancy nutrition, massage, IVF support, male fertility and hormone treatment. 

 

We work alongside Geelong’s leading gynaecologists and obstetricians, and have a close affiliation with Monash IVF in supporting women and couples to bring their dreams of parenthood to fruition.

For a lot of women and couples, the road to holding a baby in their arms is not an easy one.

At times it can be rougher than seems fair, and the light at the end of the tunnel may not always be in view.  The emotional, physical, mental and financial impact can feel all consuming. The cycles, the wait, the worry, the tears, and the anguish can sometimes feel too much... 

 

For a lot of my patients, difficulty in conceiving and carrying to full-term is one of the most challenging experiences they have ever encountered, and will hopefully ever encounter.

 

But that is not all that we do…

 

Our clinic specialises in women’s health.  Which also means we are here to assist in any hormone imbalances. These can present in so many different ways; moodiness, irritability, depression, weight issues, digestive issues, bloating, acne, low energy and insomnia, just to name a few of the most common and the most annoying!

My approach to my work is reflective of me as a person.  Honest.  Warm. Grounded.  Empathetic.  And passionate. With a hint of humble optimism to boot.  They don’t call me the ‘Fertility Fairy’ for nothing. 

 

Here’s a few bits & pieces about me:

• I am a beach girl at heart.  I grew up in Ocean Grove where I still happily live with my husband and two children.    

• Food is my passion, and I love spoiling those I love with yummy, nutritious foods that fuel the body and nourish the soul. 

• I am an intrepid traveler, having worked in the travel industry for over ten years before finding natural medicine.  Wanderlust is my daily companion and I am a firm believer; the more you travel, the more you learn and grow, the more gratitude you have in life and for the people around you. 

• My fear of not being able to conceive was my driving force to start the Newtown Natural Fertility Clinic and specialise in fertility to help women bring healthy babies into this world.

• My vision was to combine my love for travel, expertise in women’s wellness, and passion for food, to facilitate women’s wellness retreats in some of the world’s most beautiful places.   My goal was to inspire women to refresh, recharge and rejuvenate their inner wellbeing, by removing them from their responsibilities of daily life.  I believe that every woman has the ability to blossom into the most radiant version of herself when given time, space and support.  This is what I have created, with Wanderlust Wellness Retreats, for all women, whether they are trying to conceive or just wanting to find optimal wellness.
