Four Chinese Superfoods that you can easily benefit from at home ♡

We love nothing more than to empower our patients to make great choices at home with both their lifestyle choices and their nutrition. We also like to share with them the ancient wisdom of Chinese Medicine. So, todays blog is bringing those two desires together. Here are our top 4 Chinese Superfoods that you can quite easily add to your diet and the reasons why they are so amazing!

1.Goji Berries (Gou Qi Zi) is a herb that we use for blood and yin building so perfect for thickening the endometrial lining and nourishing the eyes and skin. Known as anti-aging, this herb is great to treat dizziness, muscle aches and help treat any deficient-type hormonal balancing.

2. Jujube Dates|Chinese Red Dates (Hongzao) are known to improve the immune system by stimulating the production of white blood cells. This cure-all is also known to balance body fluids, nourish the blood, and is good for the liver and stomach. Would be called a digestive tonic in Western Medicine.

3. Bok Choy also known as Chinese cabbage, is an all-star vegetable is ranked in the top five on the Aggregate Nutrient Density Index (ANDI) which evaluates foods based on their 'vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals and antioxidant capacities'. Basically, this means that this unassuming cabbage packs maximum nutrition into minimum calories. It's a great source of calcium, iron and potassium – not to mention about 20 other nutrients. Other benefits include improving skin, bone and heart health. It is an immune booster, energy tonic and blood builder; an all round power house.

4.Green Tea has long been touted for its health benefits in TCM, prescribed for all maladies from headaches to depression and fighting fatigue to encouraging post-feast digestion. While green and black tea are borne from the same plant, green tea is less processed after picking, and so retains the maximum amount of its naturally occurring antioxidants, increasing immune system function.
